Batik

Batik is a  technique of wax resist dyeing applied to cloth. By drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool a design is created. It can also be made by printing the resist with a copper stamp. When the resists sets, the cloth is soaked in a dye and the wax is removed with boiling water. The process can be repeated to showcase multiple colors. The technique originates from Southeastern Asia and Nigeria.
